Reflections - More than mere entertainment
Do you ever get the feeling that you are getting ‘entertainment overload’? That there’s so much on offer in the way of music, theatre, movies, sport, exhibitions and everything else clamouring for your attention and, just as significantly, your hard-earned dollars?
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with having an abundance of activities and events to choose from for one’s enjoyment. And right here on the Sunshine Coast we are incredibly rich in entertainment options. On any given day, there is so much going on – one of the reasons it’s one of the country’s most desirable places to live.
But, just now and then, you feel as if you need something a little more than just ‘entertainment’. Something to lift your spirit, to fill your heart; something to remind you that, in spite of all the uncertainty and angst that seems to be overwhelming the world just now; and in spite of being surrounded by issues that appear to be insurmountable – the world is still a beautiful place, and that Love and Hope are still to be found. And you don’t have to look too hard to find them.
In just over a week’s time, Oriana Choir will present a very special musical event. Reflections: Songs of Love and Hope is a concert programme that will not merely entertain you – it will surely do that – the music is beautiful, emotional, powerful, sometimes challenging – but it will make you feel good; it will remind you of the resilience of the human spirit, and re-affirm that Love, and its corollary Hope, are the greatest forces for good in the world. And they are what we truly need, now – and always.
Long time supporters of Oriana will know many of the songs in this concert – they have been performed by the Choir on numerous occasions over the years. To hear them performed thematically like this will make them fresh and as enjoyable as ever.
So, if you’re feeling a touch of ‘entertainment overload’, Reflections: Songs of Love and Hope will give you a refreshing helping of ‘entertainment enhanced’ – you’ll not only enjoy the show; but your soul will be soothed, your spirit will soar, and your heart will be gladdened.
Come along. Bring a friend. You will both love it.
